This is Eenadu's article today. They are saying that the people in the Govt took money from the companies directly and gave preference to those companies only to deliver liquor.

Initially they said it's a scam of more than 30000 crores, but now saying it's a 3000 crores scam. Allegations not about the liquor sales and the money went to the Govt account, but about giving preference to some brands by taking money.

As per the media reports, the same distilleries delivered between 2014-19 delivered the liquor in between 2019-24. Jagan multiple times mentioned in the press meets that not even a single distillery approved newly after 2019.

The same distilleries are delivering liquor after 2024 to the wine shops now. The current change is only a few new brands and few regular brands available, rest are all same brands in between 2019-24.

If the current Govt can put a case for giving preference to one company over the other, then the next Govt also can put a case in the same manner. Because the new govt approved 4-5 brands which sell liquor for 99 rupees.

Liquor is nowhere part of our culture and traditions tbh toddy(kallu) was always part of our culture which was used as rehydration fluid but things changed after ntr became cm of combined AP people say he took steps for the destruction of toddy trees to increase liquor sales and showed liquor as a replacement of toddy he even stopped giving licence to toddy syndicates bby which their prominence reduced eventually and even govt liquor was change by the later governments to gain more revenue which was even continued by trs govt as they reduced taxes for liquor and never gave permissions to toddy syndicates

I stand with you. I'm a telangana resident, since childhood there's none who says alcohol is our culture. In fact, it's banned in our house. I think Alcohol is promoted by advertising it as a culture and Youth is mislead. 

Consumption of alcohol is a personal thing but not our culture and don't degrade our culture by promoting it.

I doubt Alcohol or cigarettes are part of any culture in India. Govt earn a lot from Sin products and hence we got it. If tomorrow they feel it’s easier to manage weed addicts and profitable to tax it, they might do that as well.
